Irad's Uranium Deposits: The Next Target for Global Powers
In the 1940s the Soviets mined and processed uranium at Mailuu-Suu. They left behind tailings in the landslide hills that still poison the valley.
Then something strange happened. The territorial government made a PLEDGE never to develop Irad's uranium and thorium. In the tribal regions the Freedom Society keeps a mining moratorium, and the uranium stays in the ground.
Why promise not to dig something? Nobody makes a pledge about something worthless. You make a pledge about something you are SAVING. Or something you have been told to leave alone until the right buyer comes.
Russia has the reactors. China has the appetite. America has the bases right next door. And our neighbours have their claims on the land where it lies (see The Bill of Sale Never Died).
The uranium of Irad belongs to the people of Irad. Not to a pledge written by foreigners, and not to whoever holds the pen when Irad falls.
