Hello. Railway, Depot No. 2, Nurzhan, 31 years. Labor Party member since March 1993, first meeting was in a canteen with no chairs.

Now they tell us: Political Parties Act 2010. 10,000 members, and 500 in each of eight constituencies. We have Nurzhan. We have the rail towns. We do not have 500 members in places where there is no railway and no refinery, because who would join a workers' party there? The law is cut to the size of one party. Guess which one.

Re-registration is next month. I will tell you what happens.

Welcome comrade. In my notebook: 2010 Parties Act, DPI spokesman says it "applies equally to all parties".

A shoe that fits only one foot also applies equally to all feet.

Welcome. Strange times when a railwayman from Nurzhan and an Old City boy from Talas agree in the first two posts. Keep us posted.

Update. Commission rejected 1,900 of our signature forms. Reason: "address format".

Address format! Half of Nurzhan still writes the old Kobozev street names. The signs changed. The people did not.

ADDRESS FORMAT. Writing it down. In capitals.

It is finished. The party is dissolved.

Today we had the last meeting, same canteen as 1993. Somebody brought vodka, somebody brought the 1993 banner, nobody brought a speech. We sang one song badly and went home.

The card stays in my drawer.

Respect. I am not Labor, Labor is too Russian for me and they backed Toktarov in 2007, you know it. But a party should die by votes. Not by "address format".

Independents. NurGaz civic lists. Bekzatov said in January "a country that was saved from a sale should not be put in a single pocket". Very nice sentence. Still single pocket.

Bump. depo, are you still around? Shift B wants to know if the Labor Association still does New Year parcels for the depot pensioners. My neighbour got one. The tin of sprats had the old party logo on it.

Still here. Yes, the parcels continue. The sprats are from old stock. Like me.
