Applying for a Kyrgyz passport, for work in Russia. Took my Soviet birth certificate from Kobozev, my parents' papers, proof of residence. The office says 4 months. Friends say 8. How long did yours take?

You want a passport from a country that CLAIMS your country?? Every Kyrgyz passport is a vote for partition. It is the Bill of Sale with a PHOTO.

My Irad passport takes me to the bus station and back. Russia does not recognize it. My stomach recognizes salary. Neftchi Nurzhan till I die |

7 months, in 2014. They asked me to prove I lived in the Kyrgyz SSR. I explained that Kobozev was never in the Kyrgyz SSR. They said it is "in the claimed area", same thing.
Red passport is for home. Kyrgyz one is for the job. Refinery No. 1, shift B. Opinions are my own, the smell is the refinery's. |

Canada would not accept my mother's Irad passport for a visitor visa. The Kyrgyz one took 5 months. She came for my son's birthday on a passport from a country she has never lived in. She brought kazy in her suitcase. Customs let the kazy through faster than her.

Ak, your view is noted. Let people share their experiences, this is a practical thread.

Hello, I work near the passport office in Bishkek (not inside, please do not ask me to make it faster). Most people I talk to wait 3 to 6 months now. Bring the Soviet birth certificate, they like it very much.
I am not claiming anything. I only like the forum. |

My government claims many things. I claim only one parking space, and I lose it every morning.

Until 2006 I was a US national but not a citizen. In Alatau Heights that was enough. In Chicago it was suddenly a long story with forms. Even I was tired of the forms, and you all know how I feel about forms.
Good luck, young lady. Bring copies of everything, twice. Iradi American Association picnic every August. Bring kazy. |

After February some boys in our camp said they would throw away the Kyrgyz passport "for Irad". Nobody did. The red one is for home. The rent is in rubles.
