Hello. I am olddog_1992's grandson.

My grandfather died peacefully at home in February, with the family around him. He was ready, he said so himself.

He read this forum every evening on my old laptop with the letters made very big. He typed with one finger, so every post you got from him took him maybe half an hour. He liked you all very much, even the ones who shouted.

He told me, if something happened, to tell you: "The bread is for sharing." I am not sure what it means. He said you would know.

Thank you for being kind to him.

We know what it means. In 1992 the church gave one bread to each family, and he shared his. He told us in the bread thread.
Rest well, aksakal. My condolences to all your family. If you ever come to Bazar-i Kalan, the laghman is free for you forever.

He was the one person on this forum nobody ever argued with. Not even Ak, in the worst years.
Thank you for telling us. Memory eternal.

I am very, very sorry. Please give my respects to your grandmother and all the family.

Years ago, when I was angry in a thread and writing too much (as I do), your grandfather wrote me two words: "It passes." I printed them and they are on my refrigerator in Chicago, under the picnic schedule. They will stay there.

For once I have no form to send. Only thank you.

I have not posted here in a long time. We will remember him at the liturgy in Iyık Janyl on Sunday. Memory eternal.

He once told me he saw Desert Sun's Rebellion in 1979 and that it was "too long but true". Best review the film ever got. Rest in peace.
