New here. I drive Nurzhan to Chu District at night, fuel and building materials.
Since summer: cement trucks, every night, turning off about 40 km east of Nurzhan onto the road with no sign. Escort cars front and back. Before this year, maybe one truck a week. Now six, seven a night. Somebody is building something big at Boz-Korgon. Or finishing it. I drive. I see. I don't stop. |

THE BUSH PALACE. Everybody in Talas knows. Built for the Bush family in the 2000s, payment for walking away in 2006. And now a family is moving in. Which family? Ask the cement.

Welcome, Chu, and thank you for no names. Ak, "everybody knows" is not a source.
Read the rules. Then read them again. |

A gentle point, if I may. When I lived in Alatau Heights in the late 90s, the compound east of Nurzhan was already being built, by the territorial administration, as an emergency site. A neighbour of mine typed up tender documents for it. It is older than any Bush visit.
That does not mean nobody lives there now. Chu's cement is cement. Iradi American Association picnic every August. Bring kazy. |

Your neighbour typed the tenders. Of course he did. Amerikanka knows everything about the palace except who it is for. Interesting.

Escort cars are Gendarmerie now, not private security. Changed this month.
I drive. I see. I don't stop. |

My cousin's friend (yes, I know) delivered furniture there. He says: a very big kitchen. A kitchen for many people.
Yes, the cousin is real. No, you can't meet him. |

NOT your computer, Erbol. GREY. Boz-Korgon means GREY FORTRESS and the satellite shows grey. They are laughing at us.

And the same article says construction began in 1995 as a continuity-of-government site, and that "no document transferring title to anyone has been found". So: the family lives there, yes. The Bush part, no.

In 1992 rich men also built strong houses outside the city. When the guns came, strong houses did not help much. I do not think about it more than that.
