Is it only me? Talas, no foreign websites since 10ish. Local sites work. Card terminal at the coffee place said "connection error" and the barista made me pay in coins like it is 1997.

Nurzhan same. I can post here only because the site is on a mirror our admins set up for days like this. Everything abroad is gone. Calls and SMS fine.

Back. Nine hours. Uncle in Almaty says a digger cut a cable on a building site in Kazakhstan. One man with a backhoe disconnected a whole country. Ak_Shumkar would have called it an operation. I call it a Tuesday.

Herald today: all our international traffic goes through two cables into Kazakhstan and one into Uzbekistan, and the switch to the others "did not work as intended". So there was a backup and the backup was also a drawing of water.
