Cleaning the school cupboard today. A 1984 Soviet school atlas: the Iradi SSR in pink, between the Kazakh and Kirghiz SSRs, Kobozev with a big dot, Talas with a star. Post any old map that still has us on it. Paper only counts.
A comma is not a conspiracy. |

My 1996 library atlas page, photocopied for ten cents (I mentioned it in the ÖCHÜRÜÜ thread): our shape, a dotted line, and "Irad (U.S.)" in small letters, like a label on a suitcase.
Iradi American Association picnic every August. Bring kazy. |

Look at your own list. 1984: Moscow's map. 1996: Washington's map. Every map that shows us belongs to somebody who OWNED us.
So the real question: who will own the NEXT map that shows us? WAKE UP IRAD WAKE UP IRAD. |

In the siege a man drew Talas in chalk on a door near the bazaar, so the boys carrying water knew which streets were open that day. He changed it every morning. Best map of Irad I ever saw. The door is gone.

My grandmother's papers from the 1930s, the destination written in pen by an officer who didn't care: "Iradi SSR". The most careless man in her life put us on the map without thinking. The careful people since then have managed to leave us off.

The seminary library has a printed church map from after 1931 with every parish marked by a small salyba and Iyık Janyl in red. Not a state map, a map of souls. It's still the most complete map of Irad I've seen, valleys included.
No, we do not have the Grail. |

The first pressing has Nurzhan spelled "Nurjan" on that map. The later copies fixed it. Check yours. If it says Nurjan, don't sell it to anyone but me. If it is not on cassette it did not happen. |

My father had the horse routes over the Kenkol Pass on a cigarette packet. Still in my coat. Shows no country at all. Shows where the water is. Best kind.

Good find. Mod hat: photos of the map are fine. Photos of the wall where you pasted it are not. Nobody needs to know which wall.
